there's a new imax around here, been meaning to go see avatar 3d there. maybe this weekend.

apart from 3d and fx, what's the film like?

Pretty good. It would still be visually stunning without 3D. However, if the option is there to watch it in 3D, especially at an Imax, then definately go and see it.

Dont expect an complex drama thriller. Its purely a fantasy film for complete escapism nothing more.


The 3D makes it so involving. Even the parts of the movie where there isnt any CGI still have so much more depth and detail.

the film sounds good. the imax in nyc are built so steep. gives me the creeps like i'm going to fall off
a cliff.

heh heh, yeah, the one in Sydney is like that. We got so fed up with the searing hot sun aggravating our sunburn that we saw some 3D movine at the Imax in Darling Harbour. Where we both fell asleep within 2 minutes of the film starting, nice dark room, comfy chairs.
