er........ I have to say, that there's 2 outlooks for this.......

1.).... these softwares are proffessional in theory in terms of the facilities they offer.....and the view is that as the main hub for a proffessional persons work, the price is right,

2.)The products are grossly overpriced, coming in now at half the price of a very good pc.....

Registration is obviously the best, as you get upgrades, and some help....(if you can wait that long !!!)....... however, I can see why people want a crak, as they are SOOOOOO expensive for the home/hobbyist..... thats the problem, there is this huge gulf between the two...... then again, what did you pay for YOUR last pair of trainers ????........My VANS cost 65 quid !!...and my NIKE's cost 70 quid....there ya go.......

Novice people who work DAMN hard on software and only ask 30-40 quid for it should be rewarded with the cash (if the software is good)...People like steinberg, cubase.....Fuck `em, I`d download the cracked version of there software without thinking about it, BUT...if they lowered there crazy prices...I`d buy em..simple....as with micorsoft...HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE A LEGIT VERSION OF WINDOZE 95 ??

I got the crack of vst for the pc, and it's bloody shit! there's no way you'd pay for it. i suppose the audio bit is alright but the sequencer is completely fucked. i tried it out and had had a bassline running in cycle mode and it kept dropping notes and stuff. its not because its a crack, cubase has always sucked like that, and this new version is no better.

Nor I, but I've got both a warez cubase 3.0 and a registered VST, and I paid because those sweet people at Steinberg gave me a good deal. $99 upgrade from Cubasis that came with my soundcard for free! This should influence people towards the Terratec or anything Alesis and (maybe) Yamaha.
Law of Economics: people supply the demand. As soon as suckers realize that VAZ and Orangator are BETTER than Rebirth, Steinberg will release a 'lite' version to get back those customers they're losing.
Fact: Bram and D-lusion will never accumulate the costs and overhead big-names deal with.

well, the general concencus is.....lower the prices..... I would have to say tho......home recording is NOT a cheap hobby....... so you do need to invest I'm afraid... but just remember, you dont grab a system in one go with a great big wad of cash money...... you build over time......

Can anyone tell me, why�s everyone hacking at Steinberg?
Once you have payed for a legal version (for example
Cubase) you will get updates and upgrades for a low price.
For example: the update from Cubase 3.0 to version 3.05
dosn�t cost anything. Just call Steinberg and you�ll
get a CD-ROM with the new version. Thats service, I mean!
I work now since long time with Cubase and it�s a
really good program. If you can�t afford Cubase, buy
another sequence (for example Voytera�s DOP, a good
sequencer, as well).
I purchased some other "low price" musicians software
and I�m still waiting for updates (bugs fixies, ...).
Don�t complain about Steinberg and on the other hand
do your sequencing job using a cracked version of
Cubase. That�s inconsistent!

well, I know many people who experience problems with cubase when it comes to audio & midi sync...also, I personally find the audio part of cubase very time consuming & cryptic........... I dunno, they do get alot of stick..... I guess different people have different experiences.....

warez ftp sites change daily, you really need to be on the ball. even if you find a site it can't be guaranteed that the software you want will be up for any longer that a couple of hours....try cute ftp software.. to track down the sites try a search engine.

Software companies, huh!! they're all the same. They launch a version 1.0 of their program, let the punter discover all the bugs then charge us an fee to upgrade to a 1.1 working version. 30 quid here 30 quid there soon mounts up.

Warez cubase 3.0 is junk it hangs up all the time when you are in the middle of doing something. Wouldn' supprise me if Steinberg put it out themselves.
