Beware the cheap ones from Richer have no discs included and no valid warranty so I've been told. You end up with a better deal buying from Academy of Sound - Full one year guarantee, free media and a voucher for more free discs and a free voucher for one of those cool Neato DIY cd labelling kits - top bargain.

yes...... it's got s/pdif in... so you can record direct from your dat... it even copies the track start positions and markers..... and best of all it is re-writable...... excellent !!

The only thing about the re-writable side is that they will only play on cd-rom players and the philips machine itself. ie not a cd hifi.

ok...... that is simply because commercial cd players have had their laser strength down-graded over the last few years to get a cheaper product retail price....... there are some cd players it'll play-back a re-writable on...... apparenly older cd players, and most noticably in-car cd players that tend to use stronger laser to compensate for vibration....... Philips said that basically although there are some units that the re-writables can be played back on... it was easier & safer to simply say that it wasn't possible, than to fuck around specifying loads of older cd players that possibly may not do it, and thus mis-lead the public..... pretty sensible if you ask me........

But hey....... it'll record once only cd's as well..... and those WILL play back on any cd player..... so use it as a recorder for genaral studio work...... then burn your finished master to a standard write once only cd......

analog, optical and s/pdif inputs.......
