Cheap, free, useful utility... check it out...
Ok people....There's not alot to say about this programme, as it is a small utility, quick to download at only 1.1 mb....yet it does alot of useful functions for the midi studio & musician.

The programme opens as a small window, about the size of a windows file player...... You get a grid at the bottom showing the bars, and positions of the initial delay and first feedback tap.......There's a box for setting the BPM tempo, and this can be fine tuned to divisions of whole number tempo's.

You simply adjust the tempo, then select from a variety of different delay typews such as Triplet, 4/4, 2/4 etc......The programme then gives you a readout of the delay setting !!

There is also some type of facility to get an audio signal out from the software.....however, i just gave it a go visually, and all the delay times given, seemed to work out ok in real life, when I tried them on a drum machine beat at different tempo's !

Also, there's a facility for tap tempo input utilising the spacebar on the PC keyboard.

This utility works with Win 3.11 & 95.....It's a Freeware, so no screen nags to irritate you......So go to it !!

Hey hey.....There's now an Echo-View Pro V5....so the link's here to get that as well.......I'll check it out when I've got some free space..

EchoView Pro versions 5.5 (16 bit) 6.0 (32 bit) should be available early in 1998. The problems associated with using it in certain countries will have been addressed. All registered users will be entitled to upgrade free of charge to either of these versions.

No offence intended - just trying to save your server space. This is the official update... Forget version 4, version 5

is definitely better - it is has many more features and it is actually upto 100 times more accurate than V4 . It is also

more user friendly and easier to install (just download and double click). The 'lite version' is not actually a 'lite

version' at all. It is simply a more compact download pack which doesn't include the vb40016.dll runtime file

(version 4 was distributed in this way which is why the file is smaller - V5 makes more efficient use of memory). The

lite pack is designed to fit on a blank HD floppy disk. EchoView Pro is not a small utility program, it is whole suite

of interactive music tools. The features include a variety of musical calculator utilities, sophisticated metronome

facilities, a tap-tempo utility and numerous extended features including a sample calculator, a 'Virtual Guitar'

tuning facility, a large-screen MIDI chord analyser (an excellent jamming aid) and a range of printing options. A

full on-line help system/manual is included in the download pack. Sorry Boris but it is beginning to look like there is

a compatibility problem with the German version of Windows that you have. If anyone knows of a solution I'd be

glad to hear it. There are now thousands of happy people using EchoView Pro. If you are unfortunate enough to

encounter a problem using it with your system, please e-mail me and I will try to resolve it. Ian

er......is that a slaggin' your giving me....?...I kept the old one on, cos it seemed more compact,,...also, in the case of

the rubberduck software, the new one is not as good as the old one...so i thought folks would like the choice

PS you could say alot about EchoView Pro and it's not such a little program.

Ian

EchoView 4 is now obsolete, Pro Version 5 has completely replaced it so there's no point in keeping it on your

server.
