If it's quality piano you're after on a budget, look no further than the EMU Proformance... a small microverb sized sample player... check it !!
The Proformance is a piano sample preset player from Emu... It's about 10 years old I guess, and contains a top quality Emu sample set for grand piano... It has a few variations. and a few organs... but mainly it's a piano & electric keyboard thing.... There were a couple of models.... I think it's 16 note poly.... possibly 24 note.... monotimbrel....

I use this in my homestudio. Sound 1, 8 and 15 are the really best piano sounds I've heard in my live, very warm sounding. It's not for piano players who have a very precise imagination of how a piano should sound, it's more for composers. It sounds very unique and is great for Rock songs with piano.You can get it cheap (70to150€) on the used market. I'm not a piano player but with this thing I am very happy, I can play for hours with this sounds and they are very inspiring. Not for purists but for people who like to creat songs. For live things there are better modules, but for recording at home (add reverb, hall or something to get your dream sound) it is very, very good.
