I am looking for a VST-sampler-instrument wich
enables me to transpose samples (just like in a
real sampler). I am working with virtualsampler 1
now but it sucks like hell. Any other
suggestions??

Maybe the newer version of virtual sampler

halion's like a 'real' sampler but it's made by steinberg, so get battery!

there are hundreds of threads about Halion problems at cubase.net just a consideration/ warning. I'd wear an "I heart Battery" t-shirt in a second.

Battery rules, but HALion's specced like the dogs bollocks!!!

Are all those posts about problems with it related to V1.1 (which allegedly contains plenty of fixes and optimisations)

There's still some problems with Halion 1.1 and even a couple new ones introduced by it. It's worth looking around at cubase.net to get a sense of things. But Hal's in a completely different league than Battery. Battery works great but can't compete feature wise with Hal. Hal's more like a VST version of Giga with a few more bugs and a badly thought out file system but with the best sampler interface ever, hard or soft.

Oh, I love Battery too.
