That's the ESI promo for the product, and all I can say is, I own 2 ESI cards: The ESP1010 PCI card version (the fore-runner of this product), and the Juli@, both of which run flawlessly at VERY low latencies of 48 or 64 samples and nary a problem ever! ESI write some of the best drivers in the business, if not THE best, and this product should prove to be another winner imo.
Let's take a look in close up at the card, and front/rear panels of the package...
The PCIe card in close up

Front of the rack-unit in close up

Like with my ESP1010, two phantom power equipt mic pre's are included in the front-panel; however, if you want 48V you must use an optional 12V wall-wart power supply. One thing to note is the mic sockets are rivetted to the front panel, so no undue strain will be placed upon the circuit-board connections inside the unit as you sometimes get where such units don't use extra support for front-panel XLR's, (relying instead on soley the internal board-connection to take the strain). Complimenting the two XLR mic inputs are 2 additional stereo HI-Z inputs for guitar connections etc, and the first 4 standard line-inputs (1-4)...To the right of the front-panel are the two, (yes two!) headphone sockets, which is a bonus as you don't need to buy a headphone distribution unit when working with 2 people!
Rear of the rack-unit in close up

Round at the back of the unit, the last 4 line-inputs are available (inputs 5-8), as well as the 8 line-outputs. Next to those we have the 4 MIDI sockets - Yup! you get 2 MIDI busses on the ESP1010e; 32 channels to handle even extensive outboard setups! - Next to the MIDI sockets are the RCA S/PDIF In/Out connections... Additionaly we find here the 12V connector for the optional wall-wart power supply, and the EDI-II socket to connect the main cable from the PCIe card.

Based on my extensive use of the ESP1010 PCI (non PCIe version) & ESI's excellent Juli@ stereo i/o card, I would expect this product to be superb! Additionaly, at the deal price Thomann are currently doing it for (127GBP), it's utterly unbeatable value!!...There' nothing on the market to touch this for value/quality ratio imo.
