Another comb filtering mess. Like elements should never be horizontally mounted. Any 2nd semester engineering student knows this. Worst cabinet deign I've ever seen.

I'm about to undergo building a pair of these. I'm planning on using Eminnce Beta15's for the bass, Eminence Beta 10's for the mid and then Eminence compression horns and a piezo tweeter for the treble. I was wondering if adding a couple of ports either side of the bass drivers is reccommended or is a straight no-no? Any feedback appreciated to my email djjoe1@hotmail.co.uk - thanks, Joe.

i am planing on building one of these and then another to make a pair. i am new to speaker building and unfortunately am finding it hard to decide on what drivers to use. obviously as this is my first project i am not looking for pro drivers but i do have quite a flexible budget. it would be a massive help if you could recommend me some drivers that would work well in this cab. thanks alot

Interesting speaker. I produced a mid/high with 2x12" and a 2" JBL compression driver on a CD horn like this design (the lower half anyway) in quite large numbers for club installations in the '90's in the UK. For near field dance music they are fine but they won't please the 'horny' PA purists. They'll always say something isn't right, but for music replay they are absolutely fine and that's the point. It's a matter of personal preference but I never use horn loaded mids in near field situations on playback. It's nasty.. these will be smooth - just right for dance mids.

I used the ramsdell design where the horn and tweeters were above the tens. We triamped and used them for years. Extremely versatile and sounded great. We used backing tracks as a duo and played very high energy dance clubs, playing keyboard, guitars, vocals. They were stolen and I have been looking for plans now that I have my wood shop completed. Thanks so much for these!!!!!!

Hi, if you were to get someone to build these speakers, would you have them make the front and two sides first and then rig up the speakers, or simply have them make the cabinet and then create the holes for the cables after? - from a person that is very new to sound system design
