Yamaha D1500
The superb Yamaha D1500, a classic delay to get timed delays with it's super LED Ms delay-time readout... Also this unit has some midi control..This is my primary 'rhythmic-delay' unit, I can setup correct Ms delays perfect to go with tracks.. all the usual settings for a delay are present.. You select & cursor up/down to adjust stuff like feedback, modulation etc, and it also has a LP filter cutoff setting too.... The mod' section is slightly more detailed on this delay than some other cheapies (it's called the LFO section on the D1500)... you can choose a Square or Sine LFO wave for the delay modulation, then set the feeback & depth... so a nice touch there...
Working with it is a doddle.. set the input & out with the pots, then delays can be setup and stored in the small amount of memories - there is memories 0 - 9, then 5 additional slots titled A - F, (= 16 total positions).... I never use this with midi, but perhaps the A - F slots are for programme changes or footswitch changes delays, never even read the manual to be honest!! :].... anyways, it's simple to use, sounds good, accurate clock... and it can switch delays with midi prg changes....
Heh heh.... one thing about this delay, the power button switch on the left which is circular should have a small surrounding plastic collar to space it evenly thru the drilled casing hole that it pokes thru.. the collar is a bit like the plastic collar around 1/4" jack patchbay sockets... anyways, it is often missing cos the blasted thing falls off in transit... lost mine ages ago :)... but despite the fact that the power button can then wiggle around in it's locating hole, the unit still goes on ok... so if the one you see is missing this 'collar' don't sweat it!!.....
So... The Yamaha D1500... I got mine for just a hundred notes out of LOOT free-ad's and it's great... user comments please...

Had mine almost 20 years, still sounds fantastic by today's standards, though of course its features are very limited compared to a multi-effects box. Excellent for acoustic guitar (especially Ovation) with its full 20-20kHz range. If you can find one cheap and don't need more features, you might be very happy.

The Yamaha D1500 is, without a doubt, one of the absolute best Digital Delay devices of all time. Faultless operation, very easy to use, simple to program, A thru F Banks are factory programmed effects that can be tweaked and changed, and all the other banks are for personal saved settings. The unit is extremely quiet, well-built, and phenomenal to use. If you can pick yourself up one of these in good condition, do so!! You will only make yourself very happy!!

Great delay from long ago! This unit is very programmable allowing you to alter
depth, timing, and waveform (sine or square). Midi in, out and through, and 1/4
or xlr i/o! I use this unit to get very dubby basses, but also sounds great on
synths to thicken them up. Biggest unit in my rack and I paid $160 for it.
